It's hard to believe that Mobile Mapping Systems (MMS) have been on the market for over a decade.

3D Laser Mapping was one of the first companies to create a revolutionary approach to Mobile Mapping with their release of StreetMapper in 2004. Back then, the first StreetMapper system used three RIEGL Q120 scanners and a Q140 laser scanner. The system was originally designed following a request from a major UK utility company to provide a solution that could measure the height of electricity wires above the road. Accuracy was their main priority.
